And it’s time we saw a miracle Come on it’s time for something biblical Apocalypse Please, Muse
So were 3 years away from the end of the Mayan calendar. Bad Omens seem to be everywhere: from the continious stream of bad news pouring out of the six o’clock newscasts to the collective “weird feeling about this” that everybody seems to have. I have say that 2008 wasn’t bad for me. I managed to graduate from the University of North Florida with a bachelors degree in Electronic Media and maintained a very caring and gratifying relationship with my girlfriend, Katie. Having well to do hardworking parents, I have been able to concentrate on my studies during the past year. And now I have the opportunity to concentrate on finding a job without having to worry about paying for rent or food to eat. I have written a list of things I want to accomplish this year. I feels like the first step towards accomplishing these set of goals is to write them down here.
1-Find a Job: Well, not just a job, but my career’s starting point. I’ve been a student for the past 7 years ( a long time, I know). I like to think that I experienced everything that being a student is all about. Something weird happened at the beginning of my last year. A sort of apathy came over me. I knew at that moment that it was time for me to move on to the next phase of my life. I finished my degree and moved back home. Now I a considerable amount of my time job-hunting. My most important goal this year is to find a job. I crave the independence. It’s time for me to stand on my own two feet. 2-Move into my own place This is totally dependent on goal #1. 3- Loss weight I was pretty damn close to being an amateur bodybuilder before moving to the states. Now… I’m not. I’ve gain a lot of weight in the past 2 years. I need to get thin again. 4-Read one book every 2 weeks I think I’ve read no more than 5 books in the past year. That sucks. I consider myself a bibliophile. I love books as well as stories. There’s no reason for me not be reading any more. I don’t think reading a book every two weeks will be too much of a strain on my not too busy schedule. 5-Get back into the RPG hobby- I’m a Roleplaying Game junkie. I think 2008 was an rpg-less year for me. I have to get back into the hobby in 2009. 6- Blood Bowl: B.B. is the best tactical boardgame I’ve ever played. I really want to play as much Blood Bowl as I can this year. 7- Miniature Painting: I paint miniatures ( or little men, like Katrianna calls them) to relax. It is the only thing I that involve dexterity and I’m pretty damn proud of my abilities. I want to amass a big collection of miniatures to use in RPGs. I apologize for all the grammatical horrors that lurk within the sentences that make up this first blog. I could say that I write gonzo ( no editing or filtering), but in reality proof-reading is just boring and I don’t feel like doing it.
